In 1976, Travis Miller began a small home building, remodeling business with offices out of his residence. Incorporated in 1981, T .A. Miller, Inc. employed one person other than himself, his daughter Kay. Travis and Kay then joined forces to put together their first multi-family housing property in Mansfield, Louisiana. In June of 1983, Carmel Square Apartments was funded and construction began. In 1985, Tra-Dor, Inc. was formed to manage four (4) multi-family properties in operation.
Since that time, our team has either developed, owned, constructed or managed fifty-six (56) multi-family properties consisting of 2,241 units in Louisiana and 60 units in Texas and Arkansas.
Mr. Miller served as Chairman and primary stockholder for both T. A. Miller, Inc. and Tra-Dor, Inc until his retirement in 2019. Ms. Kay Miller served as President/CEO for the company until her retirement in December of 2014. Teresa Stewart, who joined our team in 1995, held many positions, the most recent being CEO. She served in this capacity until her passing in October of 2019. John Pumilio re-joined our team in 2012 and held the Vice President position until he resigned in 2022.
Ms. Maria Larocca, granddaughter of our founder, and CEO of both companies, has been a part of our team since 1999.
Our Property Supervisor, Jennifer Wright, who joined our team in July 1999, was a previous manager whose long-term service and dedication to Tra-Dor, Inc, was rewarded with a promotion to her current position. Dwain Stewart (Bala), our Maintenance Supervisor was hired in May 2008. We are also proud to have other office staff members including Kary Boutwell who is a Data Processor, Lance Larocca in Accounts Payable and Inventory Control, Miranda Larocca our Executive Administration Assistant, and Lindsey Bloxom, Administrative Assistant.
